We have used these cameras for a wide range of productions and they shine in every situation. Low noise, great colors, tight sharp images even at the end of the lens. The HDX900 camera uses the same 3CCD 720p imager found in the Varicam AJ-HDC27H. The HDX900 records on medium-format DVCPRO HD tapes as opposed to the large-format tapes the Varicam uses.

This full 2/3″ DVCPRO HD camcorder records pristine 100Mbps HD images in any of 11 video formats, encompassing 60Hz and 50Hz production. This versatile, cost-effective camera provides high-quality 4:2:2 intra-frame recording that holds up through layers of Final Cut effects, graphic overlays and constant editing and processing. Three CineGamma modes to replicate the look and feel of film. With 1080i, 720p, 24p and 25p capabilities, the ICV HDX900 rentals are perfect for long-form HD programming and are an invaluable tool for cinematography, documentary and television production. The effective ISO 640 rating of the camera, combined with the approximate 9.5 stops of latitude in the HDX, allow for excellent tonal reproduction in all lighting situations.
Ultimate flexibility
Record for 33 minutes on a DVCPRO medium-size cassette with 48kHz/16-bit digital audio on all four channels of uncompressed audio with full manual control over each channel. Built-in IEEE 1394 FireWire output is a real important feature. Output directly to a Laptop and encode capture or webcast. We do this all the time with these cameras! Transfer your HD video directly to nonlinear editing systems. Standard HD SDI output is included for monitoring and line recording. And the built-in down-converter produces a SD output, allowing the use of low-cost SDI accessories.
